This is the gospel of Christ - in IICorinthians Paul tells us how the letter of the law kills. We have no hope without Christ because we are sinners. This is why in God's great plan He promised from the beginning a new covenant that would be available to all. The Spirit of the Living God who, in fulfillment of the promise of the new covenant, writes the law inwardly, on tablets of human hearts. He thus provides the believer with love for God's scriptures, which previously we did not have or have power to keep. We were sinners and slaves to sin before we recieved the freedom in the Spirit of the Lord.
Matthew 5:17-19
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stoke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything has been accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. "
